OpenSplice DDS Community Edition with/without CORBA

Recommended Posts

The topic "DDS" is completely new to me and I need some clarification to the topic "DDS & CORBA".

I want to use the "OpenSplice DDS Community Edition".
I would like to write my DDS applications in C ++ and thus use theĀ  API for the C++ Language.

I've read the instruction for "Building and Installing DDS Community Edition from a Source Bundle" (http://www.prismtech.com/dds-community/building).

I understand that using "CORBA" is optional and not needed for DDS.
Thus also "TAO" does not have to be build and installed.
Is that right?
So is it quite sufficient if I create the DDS middleware exclusively from the sources of "OpenSplice DDS" for my platform?

Thanks in advance for answering my question.

Regards,
Jan.
